  The NORCO Jehovah's Witness Circut Assembly 2007 Expenses

  i went to the norco circut assembly and these are the recent $ numbers quoted ... .

  as of 4/14/2007 (the first of two circut assemblies) we had $10,260,22 (a surplus) .

  Boldly Going (Everyone's advice needed)...

  hey guys, long time from me and no topics (yup moving is a pain).

  i'm sure no one really remembers but at my last postings i was mentioning that my wife was pregnant.

  well now i'm the proud poppa of a beautiful 2 week old baby girl.. this of course brings complications, my mother is still an active jw and surely chomping at the bit to bring my daughter (did i mention she's beautiful) to show off to all her meeting friends.. of course i don't want my daughter exposed to this, so i came up with a tactic i would like everyone's opinion on.

  Tuesday, I think you might have misunderstood me. What I mean to say is I think you are making this way more complicated than it needs to be. You have very good reasons for not wanting your child to be taken to the Hall, and thats fine.

  All I am saying is, you don't need to rationalize or justify your position to anyone. Its your child, if you don't want her to go, then she doesn't go. And of course you need to make your position clear to your mother. She doesn't have to understand your concerns, she doesn't have to agree with them, she just has to respect your wishes in this regard. I would also make it very clear that any attempts to flout your rules will seriously impact how much contact she will have in the future with your daughter.

  Personally I would have a hard time allowing any kind of extended visits without my being there, between my children and my JW family members. But, since I don't have any kids, I guess its kinda moot.

  Am I missing something here? You do not want your mother taking your daughter to the Kingdom Hall? Its your daughter, you don't need tactics, or strategy. You just say no, my daughter will not be going to any Kingdom Hall. End of story.

  dear friends,.

  there are so many here with circumstances that will not allow them to leave the borg, and who week after week have to put on a show, and go to the meetings and service, that i just wanted to send you a big (((hug)) for hangng in there.. though each situation is no doubt different, one thing most likely the same..you would leave if you could,, and you have to endure all the things being taught each week, that you have come to learn are lies!

  Sorry, I am not going to applaud people who are living a lie. There is nothing brave or noble about what they are doing. And to somehow attempt to justify it by claiming that they are able to pass on 'inside information" is a joke.

  I understand that its a very difficult position to be in, its very hard to contemplate losing friends and family. But some of us have already made that choice, or had it made for us, and we've survived. Again, how in the world can you say you are helping your family members by helping them remain trapped in the Borg?

  All this talk of repurposed Kingdom Halls reminds me of a discussion with another ex-JW a while ago, his theory was that the Society deliberately built Kingdom Halls in prime locations with basically a generic layout(i.e. no windows) just for the purpose that it would always be relatively easy to sell them off at some point and turn a nice profit. So they are less of a publishing business and more of a real estate company nowadays.

  Weird Al is the greatest! I love White and Nerdy, but I love all his stuff. What's sad is his non-parody songs are just as good, but hardly ever get any recognition. One More Minute... hilarious!

  Night Tracks!!!! Leo you are an eighties child! One of the best places to watch videos ever!!! Not Mtv with their stupid Vee-Jays (note to youngsters: at one time Mtv played music videos. Crazy, I know, but true) Night Tracks was like 6 hours of solid, back-to-back videos!! Ok, I think they had commercials, too. But it was awesome back in the day.

  What was WTBTS giving as counsel to parents with disabled children in 60's?

  my search and re-search is to know this issue fully and gain all insight as to what parents of disabled children were being told when it came to any further treatment and/ or prognosis; surgery, therapy, medication and such.. i will, of course, look at wt official site to see what is there.

  yet, i'm hoping i get everything i need, right here, with those that know what was being taught on this issue in the 60's and 70's up until now.. thank you.. skally.
